My First Leica M
When I moved to Germany as exchange studying I was willing to get my hands on a Leica camera. First of all Leica is an amazing company in photographic history. Without Leica there probably won't exist 135 format camera. And 135mm did lower the entry line of photography. At my first thought I wanted to get a classical product, the Leica M3,which is the most classic M camera in the history and now. But a copy of pretty pristine M3, the price in Germany is still around 800-1000 euro.
And one day I saw a bitting of a Leica M8, costed 1100 for bitting, and get one in hand.
The first touch from this beauty, I know I am gonna in love with her. The soiled brass M camera feels in hand still can feel the heavy but surprisingly comfortable. The one from mine is silver finished. Classic look too, with the bright view finder.
Some people may asked. Why M8, it has so many problem, and is not stable, and just 10mp is not full frame!!
Well, If some one can support me to buy a M camera, I would just go for the 262 M-D, but the truth is. No! I only have these little budget to make my M camera dream happen. And about problems.. well for now I had a few, but is easy to handle, probably the battery is not enough or I using it too quick. But as least I you using medium format digital as much as me,(especially the older digital back users) you would find out those aren't even a thing. So I'm not worry about mega pixels, when I need a high resolution, certainly I would use my Credo back for it. I just want a compact trustable camera.
I'm living in Joldelund Germany now. Those works are taking from the near city called Husum.
